What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Investigate organized retail crime, including burglary and theft, in collaboration with law enforcement and retailers
- Utilize investigatory techniques such as surveillance and evidence analysis to support criminal cases
- Draft investigatory documents, including search warrants, witness statements, and reports
- Coordinate investigations across multiple jurisdictions as part of the Organized Retail Theft Task Force
- Work independently and as part of a team to achieve the goals of the Criminal Justice Division
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor's degree and ten years of experience conducting investigations, or five years as an AGO Investigator/Analyst
- Proven experience in criminal investigation techniques and evidence gathering
- Exceptional writing and oral communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills to foster a collegial and respectful workplace
- Ability to exercise discretion and good judgment in criminal cases
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- At least ten years of criminal investigation experience
- Experience with social media, video, and cell phone evidence
- Commitment to public service and justice for victims of crime
- Demonstrated ability to work independently in various settings
- Proven track record of effective collaboration with law enforcement and legal entities
