      Title: AI Solutions Product Manager - Auto Sales and Service Solutions

      Location: Remote USA

      Reports To: Head of Automotive AI Solutions

      The Role:

      This role will provide the bridge between what the customer wants and the team that can do the data science, computer science and user interface work to create that solution. The person filling this role must understand the customers existing challenges as well as have a vision for how JD Power's unique data assets can provide solutions to those challenges.

      The Impact You Will Have in This Role:

      The role is in an area that is meant to deliver high growth in what is currently industry white space. AI capabilities (LLM's and other) have created opportunities that did not previously exist. JD Power is in a unique position with regards to proprietary data assets that can now be leveraged to create new and valuable solutions for the automotive industry. This role will be a highly visible part of the pursuit of related revenue growth.

      What You'll Be Doing in This Role:
      • Working with Account leads (assigned to each client) to identify the highest priority clients and the right people to meet with at the client for a particular solution.
      • Focus for this role is the commercial side of auto companies so "speaking the language" of those executives wis important. This side of an Auto OEM is typically referred to as Sales and Service.
      • Creating materials to explain the proposed solution to clients in order to reach agreement on next steps (bootcamps or demos).
      • Working with internal teams of data science, data engineering, computer science, UI experts to create demos and proof of concepts for clients based on understanding of clients needs and their specific asks.
      • Understanding the breakthroughs that are made possible by AI large language models (LLM's) in turning large volumes of unstructured data into clear direction for achieving business results and being able to articulate those to clients.


      Qualifications of this Role:
      • Demonstrable experience in sales and service areas in an automaker or a service provider to the sales and service part of the auto industry.
      • Have worked in consulting to the auto industry with executives at OEM's and have experience selling projects or solutions to those executives.
      • Education specialty can be flexible depending on experience above. Business knowledge is important and experience or training in using data to make decisions is equally important.
      • These products are complex and while the successful candidate will not need to know all of the details related to data science, they should be able to understand what solutions can be created by merging different types of data.
      • Software experience in creating Powerpoint presentations, manipulating numbers in Excel, and using proprietary demo's that will be created in Palantir systems.
      • Demonstrated ability to think about and propose the best visualizations to capture a problem and a solution.

Part of the difficulty in selling these solutions is that the problems are so old, that many at the client no longer so them as problems but just part of the nature of the business.

      Skill #1: An important part of this role is to be able to find the right people inside the client who are both influential but also open to see the opportunities in new solutions. In early stages we will not have a turn key solution because each client will require something "tuned" for their organization. This means we have to sell a very rough demo or a concept. The person who will be successful has to have that skill to both understand the solutions to complex problems and adapt the explanation to the person(s) that they are selling the idea to.

      Skill #2: Working with our internal team of technically skilled people to create a proof of concept or an adaptation of an existing demo for follow up meetings or boot camps with prospective clients to get to a "Yes".
