      Job summary

      This post is open to Allied Health Professionals as defined within Wales who have a current HCPC registration (Allied Health Professionals (AHP) Careers - HEIW)

      A fantastic opportunity has arisen for one full-time or two part-time dynamic Allied Health Professionals (AHP) to join Health Education and Improvement Wales (HEIW) in a national leadership role. The post/s will provide national professional leadership for Allied Health Professionals in workforce transformation, delivering the "AHP Workforce Development Plan", our "Workforce Strategy for Health and Social Care" and workforce actions from the Allied Health Professions (AHP) Framework in Wales: Looking Forward Together. You will be from one of the 13 separate independent and autonomous professions with current registration Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as an Allied Health Professional as defined within Wales and will need to work across all of these professions to support workforce transformation in Wales.

      Main duties of the job

      Provide national professional leadership for AHPs in workforce transformation, supporting the delivery of the vision of 'A Healthier Wales', the AHP Framework in Wales - 'Looking Forward Together', 'Our Workforce Strategy for Health and Social Care', and to deliver the AHP workforce development plan. o Work across the whole health and social care system in Wales, providing expert strategic advice which will be instrumental in influencing and leading AHP Workforce transformation to underpin relevant strategies.o Contribute to a highly complex national programme approach to enhance the quality of services provided by AHPs.o Pro-actively manage relationships with stakeholders, nurturing key relationships with senior and high-profile individuals and maintain networks. o Work autonomously in planning, prioritising, setting and delivering objectives for own work within a national context.

      • Evidence of expert knowledge of the value and impact of AHPs across a variety of service areas
      • Working knowledge of Welsh Government policy and strategy in relation to health and social care priorities.
      • Knowledge and understanding of professional culture and political environment to achieve change at local, national and international level.
      • Evidence of continual professional development

      Desirable

      • Previous senior level experience
      • Prior experience of leading national projects
      • Formal training in leadership
