      The Team

      The Alpha Capture team is a new group sitting within the Specialist Strategies team, which will run an equity alpha capture strategy at Man AHL.

      The Specialist Strategies team is responsible for medium frequency strategies in a variety of asset classes. The team has been running for several years and look after a large and successful set of signals across regions and trading frequencies. We are now diversifying our signal set to capture new sources of alpha.

      Your role would be initially to assist in the build out of the strategy, manage contributor relationships, and ultimately become an integral part of the team managing the strategy on a day-to-day basis to generate alpha on behalf of Man AHL’s clients.

      The successful candidate will have a background in quantitative analysis and an understanding of Equities markets.

      Responsibilities

      • Research, develop, and implement an “Alpha Capture” strategy within AHL
      • Together with the research team, assist in managing and improving AHL’s trading strategies in collaboration with Operations and Trading teams across the firm
      • Contribute to AHL's overall research effort by collaborating with other teams across AHL
      • Conduct quantitative analysis to identify and evaluate market inefficiencies and potential alpha-generating opportunities in equities
      • Conduct ongoing research and analysis to refine and improve alpha capture strategies
      • Collaborate with other members of the investment team to ensure that alpha capture strategies are consistent with overall investment objectives and risk management policies
      • Stay up-to-date with market developments and industry trends

      Ideal Candidate

      • Knowledge and understanding of the structure and drivers of returns in financial markets
      • Solid written communication skills to write clear, concise, and informative technical reports and proposals
      • Strong attention to detail
      • Willing to travel globally to market a new product through broker roundtables, reverse roadshows and demonstrating confidence when speaking and presenting in a formal environment
      • Strong understanding of micro- and macro-economics, various market participants and market forces, supply and demand in trading and execution, portfolio theory and hedging methodologies, Greeks, factor and thematic risks, company reporting timetables and macro datapoints, involving regular dialogue that will have a direct impact on strategy profitability
      • Additional languages would be desirable
