      AltaGas - Team Lead, Rail Transportation

      AltaGas is looking for a dynamic and highly motivated Team Lead, Rail Transportation to join our team! Reporting to the Manager of Rail Transportation, you will manage our liquid petroleum gas movements and provide supervisory guidance to members of the Rail Transportation team.

      What You’ll Do:

      • Oversee the daily scheduling of natural gas liquids (NGL) products via rail across diverse North American routes.

      • Act as a vital link between operations and transportation, ensuring seamless alignment with production levels and operational activities.

      • Partner with our Commercial and Operations teams to strategize and implement effective product movement plans that maximize organizational execution and profitability.

      • Develop and maintain strong, strategic relationships with customers, partners, and key stakeholders to enhance business outcomes.

      • Provide leadership and developmental support to the Rail Transportation team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.

      • Negotiate and manage service levels with major railroads to optimize product flow and minimize costs associated with service charges.

      • Work collaboratively with the Manager, Rail Transportation, and second Team Lead, Rail Transportation

      Who You Are:

      • You have a post-secondary degree and bring 5+ years of relevant experience in rail logistics, particularly with rail movements in North America. Leadership experience preferred.

      • Experience in railcar maintenance and subleasing, navigating the regulatory landscapes of the rail and NGL industries preferred.

      • You possess strong analytical skills, with an exceptional ability to solve problems, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

      • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).

      • Superior verbal and written communication skills enable you to interact effectively at all levels.

      • Availability to work evenings and weekends as needed to meet business needs.
