      Main Theatres & Day Surgery Unit

      • Joint Post shared by two Band 7s 50% clinical and 50% nonclinical

      We are looking for a highly experienced, progressive and dynamic team lead for our team of anaesthetic practitioners. The Royal Surrey Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is a major cancer centre with 17 operating theatres and anaesthetic provision also extends into Brachytherapy, Cardiac Catheter Lab, Interventional Radiology, Endoscopy and CT. Main Theatres undertake procedures for both adults and paediatrics in a wide range of specialities including ENT, Oral and Maxillofacial, Upper GI, Hepatobiliary, Colorectal, Urology, Gynaecology, Gynaeoncology, Orthopaedics & Trauma, Breast, Ophthalmics, Robotics, and Obstetrics. The anaesthetic practitioner team also provide airway and critical care support throughout the Trust for priority and trauma calls.

      Main duties of the job

      The successful applicants will be responsible for the joint line management of the anaesthetic practitioner team and safe provision of anaesthesia in all areas of the hospital.

      You will both ensure provision of exemplary perioperative care for patients undergoing anaesthesia. Together, you will lead your team in the development of knowledge, ideas and work practice to innovate and improve quality and maintain our high standards of theatre practice.

      This is a demanding yet rewarding role that will suit effective, highly motivated team leaders with excellent organisational and managerial skills.

      Fixed term/Secondment/Permanent contract will be offered dependant on the candidate.

      • RGN with anaesthetic qualification/ City & Guilds 752 / NVQ Level III/DipHE/BSc in Operating Department Practice
      • Operating Theatre experience at Band 6 or above
