- Contributing to our AI-led transformation programmes by understanding the contractual implications (e.g. data processing and subcontracting requirements), reviewing contract positions and preparing simple contract change requests to collect permissions to use new solutions where required.
- Preparing, reviewing and negotiating simple contract change requests with existing clients.
- Contributing to new business opportunities, including formal and informal tender processes, in support of a senior commercial colleague.
- Becoming familiar with our entire client contract base (mainly on client precedents) and being able to examine contracts for answers to functional questions as required.
- Completing our contract obligation tracking and reporting obligations with a major client, including liaising with internal stakeholders on the status of obligations, developing action plans to address non-compliant obligations, entering updates into a contract lifecycle management system and reporting the current status monthly internally and externally.
- Functionally reports into the team of the Commercial Director for Capita Experience UK & Ireland, with the exact line manager to be confirmed.
- Engages internally with all functional areas and typically up to the seniority of Client Partner, Operations Director, Procurement Manager, Senior Finance Business Partner and Senior Legal Counsel.
- As directed by the line manager, may occasionally engage externally with clients or suppliers on assigned matters within the responsibilities of the role.
- An aptitude for working with contracts (being aware of the importance of a contract, being able to read legal documents and assess them).
- Computer literacy, including the Microsoft 365 productivity suite and a willingness to utilise the increasing functionality of Microsoft Copilot AI.
- Being a ‘starter to finisher’: taking ownership of activities through to successful completion.
- The ability to prioritise, meet deadlines and work under occasionally tight timescales.
- Confidence to seek support where appropriate and work independently where appropriate.
