Job Description

- Review multiple sources of events to identify and respond through guided exploration of the data to identify suspicious activity
- Review and respond to multiple sources of reported events in various mailboxes that correlate to documented procedures
- Conduct preliminary investigations and data collection through multiple platforms and log sources including NIDS, EDR, SIEM, DNS, etc.
- Utilize internal and external OSINT gathering for basic artifact & IOC analysis
- Occasionally conduct preliminary hunt theses based on various security advisories and vulnerability assessments with discretionary time
- Opportunities to participate in self-development with discretionary time
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Basic knowledge of Windows operating systems and computer networking concepts
- 1 or more years of Help desk experience while actively pursuing an education in cybersecurity (DFIR, operations, engineering, etc.)
- Previous SOC experience a plus
- Entry level certifications are a plus (CySA+, Security+ or similar)
- Practical experience with scripting or query languages a plus (Python, Perl, KQL, SQL, etc.)
- 6 months or more of practical cybersecurity experience
- Rotating schedule on overnights 5:00pm – 5:00am including weekends and holidays
- Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday
- Week 2: Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday
Job Description
This role is hybrid, which means you will be required to work some days on-site at the Best Buy location listed on this posting and some days virtually from home or other non-Best Buy location. This Enterprise Risk & Compliance Analyst role, within the Security Enrichment Services team, will play a vital role in Best Buy EIP’s 24/7/365 security operations environment. You will mainly be responsible for ingesting and reviewing a wide variety of alerts in a case management solution, managing the review of multiple mailbox feeds, and provide enrichment and response to both capabilities. The ideal candidate will have a high capacity for critical thinking, be able to work independently and have a strong desire to continue learning.
