      Work Schedule: Ally designates roles as (1) fully on-site, (2) hybrid, or (3) fully remote.       The Opportunity

      This role is a fully remote opportunity or can be on a hybrid schedule based out of our Charlotte, NC office.

      The Model Validation Analyst II is responsible for executing best-practice model testing and validation activities to ensure models across Ally are conceptually sound relative to their intended use, executing the appropriate controls, and performing appropriately.

      The Work Itself


      • Validate the performance and controls of quantitative models across Ally.
      • Reproduce model results independently using statistical or programming tools.
      • Identify model risks and provide recommendations to mitigate those risks.
      • Assess compliance with internal model risk governance frameworks.
      • Document and present findings to the model validation leader and Senior management.
      • Develop and maintain effective partnerships with participants / stakeholders within Ally's model risk management community.
      • Promote knowledge sharing with other analysts in MRM.
      • Provide thoughts for leadership to advance model risk management through presentations, workshops, demonstrations, and automation.
      • Support regulatory examination and internal audits

      The Skills You Bring

      Minimum Qualifications

      • 1 year of experience
      • HS Diploma or GED equivalent

      Preferred Qualifications

      Education

      • Master's degree in economics, mathematics, finance, statistics, risk management, computer science, or any related field
      • Ph.D. in finance, economics, statistics or related field

      Experience

      • 1 - 3 years in banking / financial services industry; Quantitative model development and/or validation experience.
      • Familiarity with market risk, credit risk (underwriting, loss forecasting, portfolio management), operational risk measurement, marketing models, and stress testing methodologies / quantitative analytics.
      • Experience or knowledge in market risk is highly desired.
      • Strong familiarity with regulatory guidance in the model space (i.e. SR 11-7).
      • Proficient of statistical, mathematical, machine learning and quantitative methods used in model validation.
      • Ability to assess model conceptual soundness, inherent weaknesses, performance, and controls
      • Ability to challenge model frameworks through benchmark/challenger model development using advanced modeling techniques.
      • Demonstrated analytical approach to complex processes.
      • Advanced knowledge of a statistical programming package.
      • Advanced knowledge of Python/PySpark, experience with AWS, intermediate knowledge of R, SQL is highly desired as well as experience using a cloud computing environment.

      Base Pay Range : $65000 - $115000 USD
      An individual's position in the range is determined by the specific role, the scope and responsibilities of the role, work experience, education, certification(s), training, and additional qualifications.       Incentive Compensation: This position is eligible to participate in our annual incentive plan.
