      Overview

      The global leader in automotive diagnostic equipment, Snap-on Diagnostics has an immediate opening for an Applications Specialist. The successful candidate will perform assignments supporting project teams in the design and development of products and will work closely with a project team. The position requires entry level technical skills and some understanding of the product development process.

      Responsibilities

      Key Tasks:

      • Provides technically oriented content for Diagnostic Application Software
      • Involved in building, testing, and documenting new and existing products
      • Manages time and project deliverables as assigned
      • Works with Snap-on systems and software to develop diagnostic tools applications
      • Comfortable working around vehicle electronic and electrical systems, with knowledge of vehicle network systems. Capable of removing and replacing automotive components, returning the vehicle to equal or better than before condition.
      • Build and debug applications and content with limited supervision
      • Assist in product validation testing as directed
      • Assist in preparation of documentation necessary to develop and release new applications and content. Learn and understand company design and release processes.
      • Follow company policies and procedures
      • Other duties as assigned

      Qualifications

      Requirements:

      • High school diploma
      • Minimum 2 years automotive diagnostic experience using Scan Tools
      • OEM, SAE or other certification in automotive diagnostics and repair
      • Basic understanding of how Snap-on Diagnostics products are used by customers
      • PC skills in word processing, spreadsheets, email, scheduling
      • Good written and verbal communication skills

      Preferred:

      • AA degree in Automotive Technology or Engineering preferred
      • Automotive diagnostic software development experience
