- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in a Physical Science Discipline e.g. Chemistry or Physics
- Excellent written and spoken English
- Strong technical knowledge, understanding and application of spectroscopy including at least one of the following optical techniques: Raman Spectroscopy, Luminescence /Photoluminesence /Fluorescence, Absorption/Transmission/Reflection, Laser-Induced Breakdown (LIBS), or Optical Emission Spectroscopy (OES)

The Applications Specialist is an exciting and challenging role, forming part of the Global Applications Team, you have the opportunity to directly impact the success of the Physical Science Business in EMEA as a respected expert in their field, by both our customers and our sales teams.
Through understanding our customer needs and presenting our products you drive increased sales success and help to grow the business and help our customers advance their research. Through participating in external events and generating marketing collateral you expand your influence and grow our presence through a wide range of physical science markets including: Material Science, Chemistry and Plasma Science. You will be instrumental in our technical discussion with customers, fully understanding the customers job to be done, and ensuring that we offer the best solution.
This role extends to working with our customers to deliver applications notes and similar marketing collateral. In this position, you are valued as the voice of the customer within the organisation.

The ideal candidate will also hold a higher degree in a Physical Sciences discipline.
This permanent position is based from home in the UK or possibly France or Germany but UK based candidates are preferred. Travel to customer sites is expected to be approximately 40% of the time across Europe and India.
