What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Obtain and record all necessary authorizations for radiation treatment and services
- Follow up on Accounts Receivable for the Radiation Department, including contacting insurance companies for claim issues
- Coordinate with physicians and physicists regarding authorization requests and peer-to-peer reviews
- Review patient accounts to ensure accuracy and timely payment, addressing billing complaints as needed
- Maintain confidentiality regarding patient account status and financial affairs of the clinic
What is Required (Qualifications):
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Minimum of two years of experience in authorization and/or accounts receivable follow-up, preferably in a medical or oncology setting
- Strong communication skills for professional interactions with patients and insurance companies
- Ability to handle sensitive financial matters with discretion and professionalism
- Familiarity with medical billing processes and insurance guidelines

- Knowledge of medical billing software and systems
- Ability to interpret fee schedules and insurance policies effectively
