What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Monitor claim status and maintain records in the system for commercial insurance billing
- Ensure timely collection of outstanding accounts receivable and resolve billing issues
- Review Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) and assist with patient billing inquiries
- Conduct outbound calls to insurance companies and patients to reconcile account issues
- Facilitate appeals to insurance companies for higher payments and manage correspondence related to claims
What is Required (Qualifications):
- High School Diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred
- 1-3 years of experience in receivables or collections within a healthcare setting
- Strong telephonic communication skills
- Ability to perform clerical and accounting functions related to billing
- Familiarity with insurance billing processes and patient account management
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience with claims denial management and appeals processes
- Knowledge of healthcare billing systems and software
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks
- Previous experience in customer service roles
