      Reuters is seeking an Arabic Sports Desk Editor, with excellent translations and editing skills, contact building and strong news judgement to join the Arabic Sports Service in Cairo, Egypt.

      The successful candidate will be able to work fast, under pressure, without compromising on accuracy.

      Our team provides 24/7 news coverage between them, and the expected candidate will be required to work some overnight shifts.

      As our Arabic Sports Desk Editor, you will:

      • Translate and edit all kind of Sports stories - from Soccer, Tennis, Swimming, and Athletics to Formula 1, NBA, NHL, and so on.

      • Produce original reporting stories, specially from Arab countries.

      • Ensure all content meets our ethical guidelines and free from bias.

      • Work with other editors/reporters in Egypt and the rest of the world.

      To be our Arabic Sports Desk Editor, you will likely have:

      • Excellent command of Arabic and English languages.

      • Finely tuned translating, editing, and reporting skills.

      • Solid Knowledge of major sporting events in the region.

      • Enthusiasm for learning different skills and adapting to new tools and technology.

      • A solid network of contacts, specially from Arab countries.

      • Ambition and quick thinking.

      • Five years’ experience in a similar role.
