Job Description:
The Area Coordinator (AC) is expected to be an active and visible member of our residence life staff with management and oversight of designated residence area(s). The AC will support resident student leadership opportunities through Residence Hall Association (RHA), National Residence Hall Honorary (NRHH) & other initiatives. The AC will participate in the administrative functions and efforts of Residence Life & Housing. As the supervisor of residential area(s), the AC will coordinate with other staff members in the Residence Life & Housing office on programs and events as needed. Further, they will be responsible for establishing and maintaining a living-learning atmosphere conducive to student's personal growth and academic achievement. Seen as a role model, facilitator, leader, and essential person in the development of an effective living-learning environment for student's residential experience. A successful individual will have the ability to work with a diverse population, able to adapt to change, and have knowledge of and commitment to maintaining a student development focus across campus. The individual will help shape the institution's vibrant living and learning community to help students build a sense of belonging to the College. Due to the nature of the position, ACs are expected to work outside of traditional business hours including participation in an on-call duty rotation. The duties of the Area Coordinator may vary due to the student population who resides in the area assigned.

This is a full-time, benefits-eligible, position in the APA bargaining unit. The salary range for this position is $43,000-$45,000.
