      Quick Snapshot

      For this role, we are looking for more than just sales management experience. We are looking for a leader of leaders. At a minimum, the right candidate will have previous experience managing a team of field-based sales representatives who are accustomed to selling a service-based solution to business customers of all sizes. Ideally, they will also have experience managing large teams and other managers. We would like someone who is passionate about coaching others and leading by example.

      The ideal candidate will live near our new market area headquarters, which is in Plymouth, MI, with an expectation of being in the office 3-5 days per week. Expected overnight travel will be 30-35%, visiting our other locations in Michigan, Indiana, and Ohio.

      I. Job Summary
      Supports development of the sales team and quality revenue growth in the Michigan/Indiana/Ohio area that does $1.45 Billion in Annual revenue. Indirect oversight and influence on the sales leadership team to drive strategic action & quality personnel/pipeline growth along with aligning with the Sales Director to drive overall Sales Effectiveness.

      II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
      To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned.

      • Focuses the districts on growing/upgrading existing accounts and on generating new business to maximize revenue and profits and to improve each district's performance in the marketplace.
      • Develops and implements an effective sales strategy, in alignment with Sales Effectiveness while working closely with Area Leadership, the Sales Director, and Pricing Director.
      • Identifies process & best practices to scale quality pipeline and retention. Help support the teams to meet or exceed sales quotas as determined by the Sales Director.
      • Ensures customer & personnel satisfaction through direct communication and solicitation of feedback.
      • Leads, trains, monitors, and motivates the sales management team to increase revenue.
      • Monitors the sales incentive plan(s) and ensures that sales staff can explain their potential earnings and benefits, along with performance management of teams.
      • Monitors, tracks, and reports all sales activity. Accurately forecasts monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue streams.
      • Maintains awareness of competition and trends affecting the industry.
      • Works with MSA’s and corporate management to maximize public relations activities.
      • Develops solid team of sales performers, through hands-on recruiting, hiring, and training.
      • Works with leadership to support Market Planning in the development of marketing statistics and sales efforts for each line of business within the MSA’s.
      • Develops proposal strategy and manages proposal development as appropriate.
      • Utilizing the PDS program, trains and develops sales team for future advancement.

      III. Supervisory Responsibilities
      The highest level of supervisory skills required in this job is the management of managerial employees. This includes:

      • Indirect supervision of 90 full-time employees.

      Education and Experience

      • Education: Bachelor's Degree (accredited) in Finance, Business Administration or similar area of study or in lieu of degree, High School Diploma or GED (accredited) and four (4) years of sales experience.
      • Experience: Ten (10) years of work experience (in addition to education requirement).
