- Work under the direction of the creative director and often in partnership with a writer to own visual concepts and solutions that address a range of creative challenges while maintaining or developing an optimal design workflow.
- Oversee and actively participate in the creation of visual designs and systems, including typography, logos, icons, and more, applying design principles such as color, typography, photographic selection, and usability.
- Conceptualize and design solutions that are on brief, on brand, and leverage brand style guides and strategic principles.
- Conceptualize, assign, and direct designers, production staff, and vendors to fulfill the creative vision.
- Prepare flawless deliverables for handoff to developers, producers, and clients.
- Present and defend solutions to other creatives, account leaders, and clients.
- Collaborate across disciplines with copywriters, designers, project managers, strategists, and development teams.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with clients and internal teams.
- Manage and mentor junior art directors and designers.
- At least 5 years of design experience (in B2B or B2C client work).
- At least 3 years of experience in an agency environment.
- Portfolio or samples demonstrating smart, brand-building designs, compelling visual solutions, and interactive experiences.
- Understanding of current visual trends with a current aesthetic sensibility.
- Experience across all media—digital, social, film, longform content, and print.
- Bachelor's degree in design, visual arts, advertising, digital media, or related fields.
- Comfortable presenting and defending work internally and to clients.
- Expertise in strategic brainstorming, brand design, and campaign development.
- Experience with Telecomm, Media, and Technology (CMT) industry clients.
- Experience using GenAI in workflows.
- Ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience across all media platforms.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, InDesign, etc.) and Figma.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience in scaled AOR engagements at a design level.
- Portfolio featuring award-winning work (OneShow, AD&D, Cannes, Webbys, Emmys, Andys, Effies, ADC).
- Motion graphics or illustration skills are a plus.
- Participation in new business initiatives.
- Photo/video shoot direction experience.
