What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Assist Teaching Artists in leading Visual Arts camp programming for youth aged 7-16
- Organize and lead daily camp breaks, facilitating movement and games for campers
- Support classroom management and materials organization for art activities
- Run "Lunch Hour Activities" to promote social interaction among campers
- Collaborate with a Camp Coordinator and Teaching Artists to ensure a safe and engaging camp experience
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Experience working with children, such as camp counseling, babysitting, or teaching assistance
- Must pass a background check to work with minors
- Ability to work all scheduled dates and hours from June 8 to August 21, 2026
- Empathy and compassion for children, including those with challenging behaviors
- Strong leadership skills to ensure the safety and well-being of campers
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience with visual arts or a personal interest in arts and crafts
- First aid training (Art Lit Lab will provide training if needed)
- Prior experience working with elementary or middle school-aged children
