      Job Description Summary:

      The Position:

      Position General Summary:

      The Assessment Accommodations Coordinator assists the District Assessment Team in the coordination, organization, and supervision of accommodations processes for students in FLVS K-12 District Schools who have IEPs, 504 Plans, and ESOL students who receive accommodations (including LF and LY students). The Assessment Accommodations Coordinator assists the District Assessment Team in ensuring proper implementation of accommodations for student standardized state assessments and third-party assessments. The Assessment Accommodations Coordinator works as a liaison with the ESE, 504, ESOL, and other school teams to provide information to students, parents, and General Education Instructors on implementing accommodations for standardized assessments.

      Essential Position Functions:

      • Coordinate implementation of accommodations for students with IEPs, 504 Plans, and ESOL students who receive accommodations (including LF and LY students) that are specific to in-person standardized assessments and virtual testing sessions

      • Collaborate with the Student Health and Wellness Coordinator for students with medical needs who have 504 plans or with IEPs

      • Create and maintain a process for accommodation reviews, reporting, and implementation for state assessments (PM, FAST, EOC, AP, AICE, CTE, PSAT, SAT, ACT)

      • Act as the College Board and ACT SSD Coordinator and point of contact for FLVS

      • Input and track accommodation requests on secured third-party sites for students with IEPs, 504 Plans, and ESOL students who receive accommodations (including LF and LY students) for PSAT, SAT, ACT, and AP assessments

      • Collaborate with districts across the state of FL to assist in securing test locations and proctors for students approved for special testing through College Board and ACT

      • Meet FDOE deadlines for individual assessment ordering through DOE ShareFile and accommodations requests for in-person assessments

      • Collaborate with assessment proctors and test sites to ensure understanding of assessment accommodations for implementation in compliance with state and federal regulations

      • Provide information to internal and external stakeholders regarding specific implementation of accommodations and special testing needs such as group size, 1:1 testing, test site location needs, oral presentation, etc.

      • Coordinate, organize, and facilitate assessment meetings associated with students who have accommodations ensuring necessary participants are in attendance (ensure there is a translator as needed)

      • Act as the point of contact for FLVS District Schools for any questions from students, parents, or staff regarding testing accommodations for students with IEPs, 504 Plans, or ESOL students who receive accommodations (including LF and LY students). Ensure that communication to ESOL families is provided in the home language.

      • Collaborate regularly with ESE, 504, and ELL stakeholders at FLVS District Schools to support students and families with setting up appropriate groups, locations, and methods for testing accommodations and special testing considerations for state assessments including virtual PM, district site, and FLVS headquarters sessions

      • Assist with assigning and preparing proctors to accommodate students with IEPs, 504 Plans or ESOL students who receive accommodations (including LF and LY students) for virtual and in-person testing needs

      • Utilize the Florida DOE Portal to Exceptional Education Resources (PEER) program and the Student Information System (FOCUS) to access IEPs, 504 Plans, and ESOL students who receive accommodations (including LF and LY students)

      • Collaborate with ESE, 504, and ELL team stakeholders and run weekly reports in FOCUS to ensure documentation of accommodations for new enrollments and any revisions for current students at least weekly

      • Maintain accurate reports and excel sheets for student accommodation needs including special testing considerations and coordinate with the District Testing Team and school-based teams to ensure all parties have accurate updated records in a timely manner

      • Continue professional growth through participation in trainings and other staff development activities in relation to ESE, 504, and ESOL accommodations, state testing requirements, and third-party updates

      • Serve as the on-site School Assessment Coordinator during times of year when populations of students are tested at FLVS Headquarters in Orlando

      • Collaborate regularly with school stakeholders to obtain and maintain knowledge of state and third-party assessments to assist in accommodation planning and supports for students with IEPs, 504 Plans, and ESOL students who receive accommodations (including LF and LY students)

      • Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships by consulting regularly with internal and external customers

      • Establish and maintain an efficient and accurate record keeping system of current and cumulative student records of student assessment site assignments, assessment completion, and other relevant data

      • Create, maintain, and disseminate trainings and materials to provide regular professional development to internal stakeholders

      • Protect the privacy of student records per The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA)

      • Provide the highest level of customer service to students, families, and instructional staff

      • Model professional and ethical standards when working with students, parents, peers, and community members

      • Meet professional obligations through efficient work habits such as: meeting deadlines, honoring schedules, coordinating resources and meetings in an effective and timely manner, and demonstrating respect for others

      Minimum Requirements:

      Education/Licensure/Certification:

      • Bachelor’s Degree required

      • Valid professional Florida certificate in Exceptional Student Education K-12 - Preferred

      • ESOL Endorsement - Preferred

      Experience:

      • At least three years’ experience with standardized assessments and ESE compliance

      • Virtual education experience - Preferred
