      Short Business Description

      J.P. Morgan Asset Management is continuously seeking to enhance the range of strategies offered to meet the increasingly sophisticated investment requirements of our clients, through either the launch of new products or employing our investment expertise to shape existing products for the impact of new developments. Our product development departments follow a rigorous process to determine the product launches, involving the participation and agreement of senior business managers, within a framework of rigor and governance. Initiation, Design and Business Case Approval; Development; Regulatory and Implementation are key stages of the Product Development process.

      Role Summary

      You are a strategic thinker, well organized and passionate to lead different strategic product development projects for the region. You are part of the team to make significant contribution to grow our APAC business.

      As the strategic product developer, you will work with APAC product developers and senior leaders in the region to facilitate strategic product development initiatives that extend beyond specific new funds, changes and enhancements. Demonstrating strategic thinking, great attention to details, excellent communication and project coordination skills, you will participate in a lot of local and global discussion across different functions in the asset management business, with a focus on developing proposals and driving strategic initiatives forward with key stakeholders.

      In addition to strategic product development projects, you will also involve in some local product development work across the APAC region and have more in-depth discussion with Sales and Portfolio Management teams.

      Reporting to the Hong Kong Product Development team lead, you will be based in our Hong Kong office. If you have a passion to manage strategic product development projects and have strong understanding of investment funds and regulations, you may be a good fit for our team.

      Job Responsibilities

      1. Providing quality, clear and easy to understand analyses on the impact of regulatory changes across APAC for funds and communicate recommendations and program status to impacted stakeholders.
      2. Work with local Product Development teams to ensure global/regional best practices and continuously enhance existing product governance process. Develop program charters, business cases, project plans and governance models as required.
      3. Product ownership for the product development technology agenda
      4. Support/assist the APAC Product Development team in identifying product gaps and opportunities, capitalizing on market and regulatory developments and trends and reviewing the commercial viability of the local product ranges. Prepare and present new product initiatives at local and regional product committees and, if required, also at global committees.
      5. Strategic oversight of global changes to the prospectuses and offering documents of all funds domiciled in APAC ex-Japan. Assist in preparation of offering documents and application documents for local domiciled funds and Luxembourg SICAVs registered in the APAC region.
      6. Represent and coordinate with colleagues in APAC Product Development team during different control tests and internal audit.
      7. Other responsibilities will include producing or coordinating ad hoc analysis and producing ongoing metrics to aid in decision making and management of the team

      Required qualifications, capabilities and skills

      • 7 - 10 years of relevant experience; candidates with less years of experience may be considered as Associate
      • Solid understanding of business and management functions in Asset Management and/or related financial services industries
      • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to work with stakeholders in different functions in APAC and EMEA/US, with the ability and confidence to engage dialogue with senior management
      • Comfort with ambiguity and dynamically shifting priorities, timelines, and demands
      • Experience in managing strategic projects in large organization with strong project management skill
      • Highly proficient in the use of MS Office, in particular PowerPoint and Excel
      • Fluent in written and spoken English and Cantonese/Mandarin

      Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills

      • Experience in participating in UAT testing of new IT system to clearly articulate the business needs
      • With relevant professional qualifications such as CFA
