      • Remuneration: $79,031 - $86,539; plus, Superannuation and Leave Loading

      Your day as an Assistant Analyst

      Your typical day-to-day work includes supporting and providing high quality advice and analysis to inform policy development, budget processes and government decision making. In addition to this, you will research, assess and analyse expenditure and budget proposals at a whole-of-government level and across a range of state government agencies.

      Other regular day-to-day tasks may include, and are not limited to:

      • partnering with government agencies to analyse and plan for their budget requirements
      • collaborating with agencies to develop advice on their risks and pressures
      • analysing and advising on proposed reforms to government policy
      • writing briefs for the Treasurer and submissions for Cabinet
      • advising on spending proposals with economic, accounting and legal implications
      • preparing responses to correspondence and materials for meetings


      Achieve success as an Assistant Analyst

      You will be successful in this role if you have:

      • relevant tertiary qualifications in economics, accounting finance, public policy, information systems or a related field
      • professional work experience in policy, research, accounting, finance or other analysis
      • a demonstrated ability to consider perspectives across diverse policy issues to support policy advice under supervision
      • a demonstrated ability undertaking research and analysis of data
