Red Hawk Golf and Resort is hiring for a Full-Time Assistant Banquet Manager. The Assistant Banquet Manager reports to the Banquet Manager and is responsible for all aspects of events on property. Qualified candidates will thrive in a hospitality environment and be highly focused on providing superior service. 2+ years of Banquet/Events experience required for this position.
• Assist in the planning and execution of banquet events on property.
• Work with members, guests, and potential clients in creating and booking events; including planning, coordinating, scheduling the use of facilities, and all details of event.
• Produce a banquet event order (BEO) for all events and ensure communication with all departments for group events on property.
• Help clients plan special events including menus, entertainment, theme, decorations, and other aspects.
• Recommend refinements for catered events to include floral arrangements, table settings and room appointments; recommend the purchase of equipment and supplies as needed.
• Inspect and assist with banquet set-up and breakdown of tables, decoration, equipment, serving areas and related activities in an accurate and timely manner.
• Be the point person for the client and the staff during the event and ensure satisfaction by communicating with the client throughout the event regarding any changes, substitutions, or special requests.
• Assist banquet staff throughout an event as needed (refilling drinks, delivering food, bussing tables, etc.).
• Develop, implement, and monitor standards of service and coordinate catering activities to ensure that a high quality of production and service is consistently maintained.
• Finalize payment and invoicing for all events.
• Work with third party vendors to coordinate set up of all events.
• Supervise F&B personnel staff during events.
• Work extended hours during golf and holiday season.
• Work weekends and holidays as needed.
• Update Banquet Event Orders and print for meetings.
• Assist with décor arrangement.
• Maintain detailed knowledge of all events on property and assists as needed.
• Work closely with the front and back of house associates to ensure all events are executed to exceed expectations.
• Provide administrative support to the Banquet Manager and Director of Sales. This includes reviewing BEO’s, vendor contracts, managing files, and other event related documents.
• Keep tables, event rooms, and supply stations clean and organized.
• Listen and respond to guest needs.
• Assists in the coordination of department members that may include, but is not limited to: Bartenders, Servers, Set Up Staff.
• Reports directly to the Banquet Manager and completes other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
• 2+ years of Banquet experience required.
• Must be highly organized, efficient, and detail oriented.
• Knowledge of pertinent health regulations and liquor laws
• Must have food and beverage/a la carte and banquet experience.
• Ability to manage staff (supervisory experience).
• Must have exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
• Must have strong customer/guest orientation.
• Computer skills – Word, Excel, POS, etc.
• Previous experience in event planning, execution, and working banquet/catering events required.
