- The principal responsibility of the role is to contribute to the development of digital tools, processes and outputs, including interactive BI reports, that support the wider project team and enable better delivery of projects for our clients.
- You will be expected to adhere to a structured development lifecycle that includes requirements definition, design, development and testing, user acceptance testing, deployment, handover and post-implementation support.
- Understand data and the different ways it can be structured, being able to clearly articulate the pros and cons of structuring data in different ways
- Work with Microsoft Power BI (training will be provided if required) to develop visually effective reports and dashboards that promote data-driven decision-making
- Collaborate with colleagues to optimise data source stability, developing and maintaining robust data policies and processes, to reduce manual handling of data and assure the accuracy of reporting
- Be responsible for periodic updates to data and redevelopment of visualisations as required
- Provide support to users and colleagues in relation to published reports
- Keep your knowledge of Power BI and other relevant applications up to date by undertaking training and development, independently or as directed.

The role is for an Assistant BI developer specialising in the Microsoft technology stack. It is a client-facing role supporting fee-earning projects and programmes. No prior experience of BI development is required.
The successful candidate must demonstrate an aptitude for, and/or an interest in, the following areas:
You will be expected to work with Microsoft’s ‘low code’ Power Platform suite, including Power BI / Fabric, as well as SharePoint, Teams and the M365 Office suite.
Any knowledge or experience of supporting BI & data analytics software and languages such as Python, JSON, R, JavaScript, SQL, etc. would be a benefit but is not a requirement.
Due to the nature of some of our projects, you'll need have the right to work in the UK without sponsorship.
This role represents an exciting opportunity to work on a variety of diverse projects and programmes across a range of industries and sectors. As an Assistant Manager, you will work as part of the Digital team on a project, supported by an experienced practitioner. Over time you will take on additional responsibilities in line with your technical and professional development, and chosen area of specialisation.
As part of your role, you will interface with the Mace project team and occasionally stakeholders from other organisations, if working on a joint venture project or directly for a client. You will be part of the Digital Centre of Excellence community, sharing knowledge and experience with other BI & Data professionals. This is an excellent opportunity to learn from experienced practitioners and further develop your technical skill set.
