What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Assist the City Engineer in supervising and coordinating the activities of the engineering department
- Lead the planning, development, design, and construction of local and federal public improvement projects
- Prepare council reports and represent the engineering department in public meetings
- Oversee engineering reviews of projects and permits across various city divisions
- Coordinate efforts with other departments, consultants, and governmental agencies regarding development activities
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a closely related field
- Minimum of five (5) years of Civil Engineering experience, including supervisory experience
- Valid driver's license
- Professional Engineer (PE) licensure in the State of Minnesota or ability to obtain within six (6) months of employment
- Knowledge of civil engineering principles and local, state, and federal laws related to engineering practices
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Master’s degree in civil engineering or a related field
- Experience with ArcGIS software
- Fluency in Spanish, Hmong, Russian, Somali, Lao, or Vietnamese
- Experience working with diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds
- One year of supervisory experience
