- Develop, organize and implement a comprehensive recruiting plan for volleyball.
- As directed by the head coach, develop and implement plans and strategies for practices competition
- As directed by the head coach, schedule games, make transportation and lodging arrangements for team travel
- Assists head coach in game preparation including scouting, devising game strategies and evaluating performance.
- Assists head coach in developing individual players and overall team.
- Assists head coach in instilling a philosophy of team work, discipline, and sportsmanship.
- Assist with evaluating program effectiveness
- Monitor student-athletes' academic progression
- Enforce and uphold all University guidelines, procedures and policies.
- Participate in fundraising efforts for the university and the athletics department.
- Other duties as assigned by the head coaches (volleyball and track) and/or the Director of Athletics ..

Dillard University, classified by the Carnegie Foundation as a balanced arts and sciences/professions institution, invites applications and nominations for the position assistant coach in the sports of volleyball. The University is located in the culturally-rich and diverse city of New Orleans, Louisiana.
Position Overview
This position assists the Volleyball Coaches with all phases of the respective Program..
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
Recruiting duties include, assisting with the coordination of in-person recruiting visits, updating the head coach and recruitment and admissions team on recruiting issues and communicating eligibility and/or admissions status with prospective student-athletes and the head coach. The position will manage logistical planning of on-campus recruiting visits.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
COMPETENCIES
Ability to effectively coordinate events and programs with media
Ability to make frequent trips to locations outside of the University area
Ability to communicate effectively
Ability to write, edit and /or develop articles, reports, and publications.
Ability to organize and coordinate athletic events
Ability to accurately prepare and maintain records and reports
Must have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to work well with supervisor, coworkers, university community, and the public.
Ability to work evening and weekends in preparation for and during athletic events.
Knowledge of NAIA eligibility rules
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution.
1-2 years athletic recruiting experience;
2-2 years coaching experience
Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Publisher
Knowledge of social media platforms
