      INTRODUCTION:

      The ideal Assistant Controller has Software as a Service (SaaS) or payments industry accounting experience in a multi-entity, international company with exposure to transfer pricing, mergers/acquisitions, and intercompany allocations. The Assistant Controller will be a critical driver of a continuous improvement culture and will have a hands-on approach to staff development. This position is expected to support team and company initiatives proactively and enthusiastically, in a fast-paced and growth-oriented environment.

      Note: This is a hybrid position working out of our Dallas-Fort Worth area office.

      WHAT YOU'LL DO:

      • Manage the month-end close process to produce high-quality financials, maintaining excellent communication with the FP&A and leadership teams throughout

      • Manage the 6 annual US GAAP (due early Q2) and statutory audits (due Q3), in conjunction with the Lead Reporting Accountant, one of this role’s direct reports

      • Ensure all supporting documentation and backup for entries or accounting decisions is maintained for compliance or internal control requirements

      • Provide Balance Sheet flux analysis, including Risks & Opportunities, for the monthly board meetings

      • Establish and maintain internal controls for the Accounting team, such as reconciliation and journal entry procedures, and collaborate with other teams on control best practices, especially in Workday

      • Review Balance Sheet reconciliations and identify and resolve exposures

      • Facilitate documentation of all key procedures, processes and key controls

      • Establish continuity and cross-training across team to eliminate single points of failure

      • Support M&A activities including diligence, integration, and purchase accounting.

      • Support the tax team with tax-related projects and filings

      • Assist with cash or banking analysis, needs and requirements

      • Assist in research of accounting guidance and implementation of such policies

      • Identify areas for improvement, including process or control weaknesses, communicate to management, and implement changes to enhance the control environment and mitigate risk.

      • This position is responsible for 3 direct reports, two managers and one individual contributor, and 8+ indirect reports

      WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

      • CPA or equivalent certification

      • B.S. or B.A. in Accounting or equivalent; Master’s preferred

      • 12+ years’ overall experience in accounting, including General Ledger, Consolidations, and Balance Sheet reconciliation

      • Minimum 2 years’ supervising/managing a high-functioning team

      • Expert knowledge of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

      • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite

      • Professional communication skills

      • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment

      • Ability to make sound decisions and take calculated risks

      • Experience with payment processing and/or software-as-a-service industries

      Please note that the salary information shown below is a general guideline only and based on employees in the United States and may be different in other countries. Salaries are based upon candidate experience, qualifications, and location, as well as market and business considerations. Our pay range for U.S. based candidates for this position is $136,000-- $183,000 USD annually. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for the job location during the hiring process. Also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation such as bonuses.
