- Prepare and maintain financial records, journal entries, and ledgers.
- Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Ensure accuracy in financial statements, including the club’s revenue from memberships, dining, golf operations, and special events.
- Reconcile daily cash receipts, credit card transactions, and bank statements.
- Support the preparation of balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.
- Process vendor invoices, member billing, and payment collections.
- Process accounts receivable, ensuring timely payments from club members.
- Assist with billing disputes, membership fees, and payment reconciliations.
- Provide backup for Payroll administrator
- Assist in budget preparation and financial forecasting for club operations.
- Monitor departmental budgets, including golf operations, clubhouse services, and maintenance.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends and variances.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and country club accounting policies.
- Assist with annual audits and financial reporting for board meetings.
- Implement internal controls to safeguard club assets and prevent financial discrepancies.
- Maintain and improve club accounting software and financial systems.
- Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes for efficiency.
- Work closely with other departments to ensure accurate financial data management.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 2-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in the hospitality, golf, or club industry.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and tax regulations.
- Proficiency in club accounting software (Jonas preferred) and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

West Bay Club - Estero, Florida
Nestled in the heart of Estero Bay, near the Gulf of Mexico, West Bay Club is a member-owned gated community and private golf club encompassing nearly 900 acres - 500 of which are dedicated to conservation. The community boasts 790 residences, including estate homes, high-rise condos, and villas, all set amidst lush tropical landscaping and bordering Estero Bay and Gulf of Mexico. West Bay recently underwent a $40 million renovation of the club amenities and golf course.
Located in the picturesque surroundings of West Bay’s community the Bay House facility includes a resort-style pool, state-of-the-art fitness center, spa, culinary academy, card and meeting rooms, and the Aqua Café offering both indoor and outdoor dining. West Bay’s tennis facility offers center court viewing on all eight Har-Tru courts. Additionally, the Sports Park offers six pickleball courts, two bocce courts, and a dog park. About The Position
The Assistant Controller will work with the Director of Finance to manage daily accounting functions, financial reporting, and compliance for our private golf club and community association. This role is essential in maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and ensuring the smooth financial operations of the club. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, attention to detail, and experience in the hospitality or club industry.
