Job Description

- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field
- 7+ years of experience in Accounting / Finance, with strong general accounting (GAAP) knowledge
- Three years supervisory experience
- CPA Required. Big 4 and Large Regional firms only
- Experience with Inventory and Intercompany transactions
- Strong Excel skills with the ability to manage large data sets
- Intermediate to Excellent PC skills, including MS Office experience, with emphasis on Excel and Teams
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Demonstrated ability to work well with others in a matrix team environment.
- Ability to multitask, consistently meet deadlines, and demonstrate strong time management skills
- Ability to supervise and develop finance staff
- Experience working with Prophet 21 (P21) or ERP system a plus
- Assist with establishing and implementing accounting policies, procedures, work standards and internal controls
- Drive process improvements and implement best practices to increase efficiency and accuracy in the accounting and reporting process
- Develop staff as processes and procedures are upgraded
- Ensure Bank Reconciliations are completed timely and accurately
- Provides direct supervision over Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable Teams to ensure accuracy and timeliness of invoice and payment entries
- Ensure proper reserves are established and maintained
- Implement measures to evaluate and increase productivity and efficiency
- Confirm accuracy of Commissions Calculations for sales and branch teams
- Assist with the development/evaluation of budgets and prepare reports.
- Assists internal and external auditors with periodic auditing or the organization's financial records and statements.
- Perform ad hoc projects and other duties as assigned by the Controller in a timely and complete manner
- Other duties as assigned.
The role of Assistant Controller is a new position, created to continue driving the combination of the accounting teams to one department, aligning processes, and implementing proper controls.
This position supports Rheem Northeast Distribution, a combination of four separate distribution companies in New York and New Jersey, acquired by Rheem Manufacturing in 2021 and 2022.The position will be located in either one of our New Jersey offices, or Islandia, NY.Qualifications
