- Assist Shop Manager
- Directly assist with any assigned tasks
- Prepare show paperwork and procedure documents as directed
- Cut and construct garments with minimal supervision
- Prep alterations and complete alterations
- Keep notes sheets updated and be able to communicate progress and needs
- Manage the use of stock as a rental facility for student directors for class projects
- Keep stock ready to use and be able to assist students in pulling and restocking of costume pieces
- Responsible for getting costumes to dry cleaner as needed
- Lead student stitchers of varying skills through show alterations
- Assist with teaching new stitchers and designers through design process
- Work with Shop Manager to train student wardrobe/maintenance crew members and to compile and complete notes
- Attend tech rehearsals to manage/teach student wardrobe team
- Maintain Dressing rooms, laundry room, and hair/makeup lab
- Be on call for any weekend maintenance needs during show run
- Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylor’s mission
- Ability to comply with university policies
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance
What We're Looking For
Baylor University is seeking an Assistant Costume Shop Manager to support the mission and vision of the University within the Department of Theatre Arts by supporting all functions of the costume shop and serves as first hand for our season of productions—cutting and constructing garments, completing alterations, and keeping notes on project progress. The position also manages departmental costume stock for rental across the department and by outside entities. The position supervises student stitchers and supports student wardrobe crews through tech and performance. The ideal candidate will have experience running wardrobe. Experience with hair and makeup a plus. We are a close-knit community and value self-motivation, a positive attitude, good humor, and courtesy.
A Bachelor's Degree and a and at least one year of relevant work experience is required. A Master's Degree in fine arts or related field and three years of relevant work experience is preferred. A combination of education and experience will be considered in lieu of another.
Applicants must currently be authorized to work in the United States on a Full-Time basis.

The budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position is $20.00 per hour.
The full salary range for this position classification is $17.22 - $28.41 per hour.This range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certification, analysis of internal equity, and other business and organizational needs.
