What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Review, analyze, and respond to complaints in Maryland state and federal courts
- Prepare and argue various types of motions, including dispositive and evidentiary motions
- Conduct depositions and prepare for bench and jury trials
- Research legal issues and gather necessary facts from clients and witnesses
- Evaluate and settle claims while interpreting laws, rulings, and regulations
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Juris Doctor degree from an accredited university school of law
- At least one (1) year of post-degree experience as a law clerk or in a similar capacity for Assistant County Attorney I level
- Two (2) years of professional experience as an attorney, including trial experience for Assistant County Attorney II level
- Membership in the Maryland State Bar, with no substitutions allowed
- Ability to cope with exposure to difficult subject matters and work collaboratively in high-stress circumstances
