      What We Are Looking For

      Baylor University is seeking an Assistant Dean of External Affairs for the George W. Truett Theological Seminary. This position is responsible for providing leadership and vision for how Truett Seminary engages externally with a variety of constituents - congregations, professional organizations, alumni, and local, state, national, and international Christian leaders. This role requires project management, planning, implementation, and execution of sustainable strategic initiatives supporting the University's institutional goals.

      A doctoral degree, five years of relevant work experience, and an active Christian faith are required. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

      What You Will Do

      • Provide vision for the Center for Ministry Effectiveness by developing ideas with external and internal leaders for valued seminars and workshops. Manage resources to meet the expressed ministry needs of churches, ministers, and laypersons.
      • Participate within the University and the Truett Church Network to deepen relationships between Truett and affiliated denominational and institutional leaders, developing long-term relationships with churches, ministers, and laity among groups of shared convictional congruence with Truett Seminary and serve as a member of senior leadership in the Seminary and contribute to implementation of Seminary priorities.
      • Provide vision for and relational connections with the Director of the Office of Ministry Connections and collaborate with that office by consulting with churches in need of supply preaching, interim services, and search committee assistance.
      • Provide vision and oversight for the Program Director of the Certificate of Ministry Program to create and implement continuing education opportunities.
      • Supervise and collaborate with the following Directors: 1) Program for the Future Church; 2) Kyle Lake Center for Effective Preaching; and 3) Director of Parachurch Relations and Alumni Engagement.
      • Perform other duties as assigned by Dean.
