      What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
      - Champion the library's strategic goals and collaborate with the Executive Team on policies and procedures
      - Identify operational inefficiencies and propose solutions to enhance customer experience and reduce costs
      - Support fiscal and budgetary management of library resources, ensuring compliance with procurement regulations
      - Provide guidance to the Human Resources unit on recruitment, retention, and staff professional development
      - Oversee negotiation of agreements, contracts, and memorandums of understanding related to operational responsibilities

      What is Required (Qualifications):
      - Seven years of progressive financial management experience in local or state government, with three years in a supervisory or executive role within a public library
      - Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
      - Experience in managing a union environment
      - Strong fiscal management experience within a traditional government structure
      - Knowledge of project management principles and practices

      How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
      - MLS in Library Science or Library Information Science from an ALA-accredited institution, or a master's degree in business administration or finance/accounting
      - Operations experience in a large, urban public library environment
