      The assistant director will support the C enter for Career Equity, Development and Success in advancing the universityu2019s mission of career readiness for international and domestic students. They will support the development and implementation of equity and access initiatives that help promote positive and resilient career identities . They will have a primary role of community-building among international students, supporting career education and employer engagement, in collaboration with staff , alums , and employers . The position reports to the Director for Career Equity and Access

      Building Practices, Engagements and Partnerships

      • Utilize knowledge of domestic and international employment landscape i nformation regarding best practices, hiring trends and key insights into the local and international job market
      • Leverage institutional data to drive decision making and conduct relevant assessments to understand if services and programs are meeting student needs
      • Share findings with the team and highlight ways to support career advising to international students and domestic students seeking opportunities abroad
      • Establish and maintain a global network of students, parents, and alumni to help international students connect with opportunities in their home country
      • Work to engage employers, alumni and/or parents in programs and services in conjunction with the Career Communities, and maintain relationships with companies willing to sponsor from resources such as Handshake, MyVisaJobs , GoinGlobal and communicate those opportunities directly to the Career Communities ADs
      • Promote the C enteru2019s and campus partners programming such as RAMP, Job Shadow ing , Return and Connect among others to international students via newsletter, student club meetings, and other outreach outlets
      • Develop and coordinate innovative career-related programs strategically devised for the specific needs of international students and domestic students interested in global careers in conjunction with the Career Education team
      • Assist in the coordination of center wide special programs, w orkshops, career fairs, and other events such as Activate Your Career Plan, international student's advising drop-ins

      Assessments, Communication, and Outcomes

      • Work with the O perations team to gather data and track outcomes for international students
      • Serve as liaison to the Center for International Education and Study Away (CIESA) , INTO and associated offices and individuals supporting international students; meet with these stakeholders as needed to enhance student support and services
      • Work closely with O perations and Media/Communications to share stories of career success from international students, and students involved in global programming

      Requirements/Qualifications:

      • Candidates with a bachelor's degree and 2-3 years of experience are eligible for the position. Experience gained as an undergraduate or graduate student may be included
      • Master's degree preferred
      • Demonstrate a deep commitment to ameliorate the barriers faced by international students and students from underserved communities
      • Experience in employer relations, with knowledge of career paths and recruiting practices
      • Proven experience in working with diverse populations including international students.
      • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and records
      • Ability to prioritize schedules with diplomacy and good judgment required
      • Demonstrate teamwork and ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders
      • Strong interpersonal, communication, and project/program management skills
      • Knowledge of learning management systems/applications (Canvas, Blackboard, etc.)
      • Demonstrate a working knowledge of SEVIS
      • Ability to supervise undergraduate students and graduate fellows
