What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Plan, organize, and direct fiscal administration and financial services for local educational agencies
- Implement, enhance, maintain, and support financial management systems
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws related to school accounting and finance
- Supervise staff engaged in school accounting and fiscal administration
- Analyze and improve operational processes and workflows to enhance organizational efficiency
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a closely related field
- Minimum of five years of experience in school accounting and fiscal administration
- At least three years of supervisory experience in school accounting activities
- Valid California driver's license and reliable transportation between job sites
- Strong knowledge of principles and practices of accounting, budgeting, and fiscal administration
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience with governmental accounting standards and compliance with legal requirements
- Familiarity with automated business and accounting systems
- Proven track record of critical thinking and effective decision-making in fiscal oversight roles
- Background in project management and resource allocation in a public agency setting
- Bilingual proficiency may be beneficial for positions involving public contact
