      Description

      Position Summary:

      The Assistant Fitness Manager supports the Fitness Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the fitness department, managing personal trainers, ensuring high standards of service, and promoting a positive and results-driven environment. This leadership role balances administrative tasks with direct member engagement and staff supervision, helping to drive member retention and revenue growth.

      Key Responsibilities:

      • Assist in managing the daily operations of the fitness department, including staffing, scheduling, and compliance with company policies.

      • Support recruitment, onboarding, and training of personal trainers and fitness staff.

      • Monitor trainer performance and productivity, providing coaching and feedback as needed.

      • Promote and sell personal training packages to help members achieve their fitness goals.

      • Deliver high-quality personal training sessions and small group training as needed.

      • Ensure facility cleanliness, safety, and proper maintenance of fitness equipment.

      • Address member concerns and inquiries in a professional, timely manner.

      • Collaborate with the Fitness Manager to set and achieve department revenue targets.

      • Organize fitness events, challenges, and educational workshops to boost engagement.

      • Assist in tracking KPIs, sales goals, and departmental performance metrics.

      Qualifications:

      • High school diploma or GED required, college degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or related field preferred.

      • Nationally recognized personal training certification (e.g., NASM, ACE, ACSM, NSCA) required.

      • CPR/AED and First Aid certification required.

      • 2+ years of personal training experience; prior leadership or supervisory experience preferred.

      • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and customer service skills.

      • Proficient in Microsoft Office and club management software (e.g., MindBody, Club OS, ABC Fitness, etc.).

      • Passion for health and fitness, with a positive and team-oriented attitude.

      Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

      • Must be able to lift 50+ lbs.

      • Ability to stand, walk, and be physically active for extended periods.

      • Availability to work flexible hours, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
