      Assistant Manager, Banquets

      Work Mode: Onsite

      Location: Onsite – Kohler, WI

      Opportunity

      Assistant Banquet Manager is a skilled professional who supports and manages events, venues, directs the catering staff, and pre-plans the events to ensure consumer satisfaction. In addition to these duties, he acts as a link between the client and the staff to interpret the goals clearly to enable them to carry out their respective duties.

      Specific Responsibilities

      Operations

      • Meeting clients, taking contracts to help them to discuss what they need to have in the event and reporting these to the banquet manager.
      • Pre-plan the event with assistance from the manager.
      • Supporting the banquet plans and designing the planned venue.
      • Coordinate with the catering staff and manage banquet business logistics.
      • Ensure the best food and beverage service is given in the interest of the consumer.
      • Monitor and control banquet budget, which includes labor costs, beverage costs, inventory equipment, etc.
      • Make sure to offer optimum level services in terms of quality and hospitality.
      • Require coordination and cooperation with all the departments like culinary, catering, sales housekeeping, etc. to manage them in an effective manner to get a hold on the esteemed customers.

      Skillset

      • An excellent event planner.
      • He must possess creativity to come up with eye-catching designs, to implement the events to the tastes of the customers.
      • Have excellent leadership skills to manage over the large crew of waiters, stewards, cooks, bartenders, etc.
      • Must possess a dynamic attitude to keep on toes to ensure everything is working according to plans.
      • Proficient communication skills and an impressive personality to be looked upon as a motivational event planner.
      • Open to challenges in large and small event planning and face the risks with a patient approach to resolve them in a systematic manner.
      • Effective multitasking skills.
      • Good rapport with the head manager and colleagues in the organization

      • Train and develop associates by providing ongoing feedback, establishing performance expectations, and conducting performance reviews.
      • Ensure clear and professional communication with personnel in all departments.
      • Use progressive disciplinary action when needed to address employee challenges.
      • Maintain a positive attitude and foster a culture of creativity and innovation.
      • Provide training, tools, and materials for your associates to successfully complete assigned tasks.
      • Build and maintain positive work relations with peers and support departments.

      Skills/Requirements

      • Minimum of two-year degree preferred. Four to five years’ relevant experience required.
      • Relevant coursework in Responsible Beverage, Sanitation, Supervision, and Teamwork
      • Food Manager Certification required for completion of this certificate within six months of employment.

      The salary range for this position is $63,100 - $79,500. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location. Available benefits include medical, dental, vision & 401k.
