      Job Summary

      If you are looking for an opportunity in Systems Architecture, then Emerson has a great opportunity for you! Based in India, the Control System Architect - Blending Solutions will design the overall control system framework to meet specific project/client requirements through the use of their extensive knowledge of various blending and transfer processes, control system technologies & networking and plant operating requirements to be able. They will effectively engage, drive, lead customer engagement from technical front and also collaborate with internal and external customers.

      In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

      • Provide consultative approach in the application of engineering practices, with a proficiency in Blending & Transfer processes, Control Automation Technologies, and broad knowledge of multiple areas of specialty, product and systems such as ERP, MES, and other related sub-systems.
      • Reviewing, approving, consulting on developing automation solutions for a broad range of lube oil, grease, and fuel blending applications
      • Possesses knowledge in all areas of design processes relating to products and/or systems
      • Translates customer requirements into a viable, optimal, and competitive system design. Able to assess technical risk and approve mitigation plans. Interface and negotiate with client
      • Support global MSS sales teams during project pursuits, proposal preparation, etc.
      • Coaches project leads and development teams while implementing automation systems to meet specific customer requirements.
      • Function as the “Go-to” expert for other member so of the team for control and automation related requirements and issues.

      For This Role, You Will Need:

      • Expert knowledge of ISA S88 Batch Standards, phase logic implementation methods, automation technologies, communication standards/protocols, and software technologies to be able to recommend, specify, and architect overall plant control platform.
      • Ability to conceive, partition, visualize and specify software design, user interface features.
      • Review and approve functional design specification prepared by development teams, play a critical role in test criteria including FAT & SAT.
      • Problem solving approach by understanding customer requirements and share best solution.
      • Ability to function as a global consultant having multi-project or organizational impact spanning world area B&T project implementations.
      • Direct and participate in the development and implementation of innovative solutions or products.
      • When assigned to lead projects on a need basis, can establish deadlines and manage priorities for self and others and guide team progress.
      • Able to travel as needed- may travel internationally to participate in customer meetings, project pursuits, commissioning, and startup of new blending systems.
      • Must work closely with sales/marketing, process engineering, and project management teams work Environment:
      • 90% work in office environment. Also, frequent travel to job sites for meetings or during project pursuits to support sales team.
      • Occasional construction site visits for project start-up and installation. Tools & Technology:
      • Must know company policies and procedures, know project software other software packages necessary for performing duties

      Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:

      • Minimum of bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Instrumentation or Electrical Engineering
      • Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in implementing process control applications
      • Experience in chemical, gas and oil, flow measurement, and batch processing applications preferred.
