      The assistant manager provides dedicated event support for the end-to-end event management oversight and delivery of events as a key part of our best-in-class communications to our internal audiences. The role will work closely with the events managers and reports into the Senior Manager, Channels & Experience.

      Job Description

      • LOCATIONS: London, Bristol, Edinburgh, Leeds, London, Birmingham or Halifax
      • SALARY: £37,548 - £50,060 (salary may vary on location)
      • HOURS: Full Time
      • WORKING PATTERN: Hybrid, 40% (or two days) in an office site.

The role will work closely with the events managers and reports into the Senior Manager, Channels & Experience.

      Responsibilities

      • Provides event management and delivery support for large scale and high-profile internal events including those led by of our Group Chief Executive and our all colleague broadcasts.
      • Assists with the management of the internal events strategy and plan for the Group and GEC, helping to identify the opportunities and challenges to ensure maximum impact and value.
      • Works closely with our events managers, business partner teams and our stakeholders in the business to deliver high quality in-person, hybrid and virtual events.
      • Owns the creation of event content from conception through to delivery, ensuring the content is engaging, impactful and achieves the desired outcomes.
      • Works closely and collaboratively with people and teams across GCA and the wider business to ensure events are planned and delivered effectively, maximising impact and alignment with Group and business unit priorities.
      • Challenges constructively, driving real purpose and value of communications and helping to reduce the noise for our audiences.
      • Creates measurement and feedback opportunities, gathering information and inputs to support the team’s understanding of the value and impact of events.
      • Collaborates with our in-house creative team (and external suppliers when needed) to develop high-quality event content.
      • Continuously develops and grows by pursuing and investing in personal development opportunities.
      • Establishes and maintains effective networks of contacts across the communications job family.

      What we need from you

      • Has excellent prioritisation and strategic planning skills, working within tight timescales to support the planning and prioritising of internal events for our colleagues.
      • Strong stakeholder management, building an extensive network of subject matter experts from across the communications job family and the business.
      • Understands the communications landscape in the Group, collaborating with expert channel and support teams within GCA and, where required, external partners to deliver outstanding, inclusive and accessible events.
      • Has a passion to embrace and inspire change and continuous improvement, willing to bring ideas and experiments to support the team’s adoption of new technology to improve the colleague experience.
      • Proactively takes ownership of own performance and development and improving understanding of events tools, technology and best practice.
      • Demonstrates a clear understanding of audience and business, industry and financial knowledge, keen to explore and grasp the opportunities arising from emerging communications trends, risks and improvement opportunities.
      • Ability to work at pace in an agile tech-enabled environment.
      • Trusted to lead confidential material and apply insight / data-based judgement.
