What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Direct and supervise stevedoring operations to maximize productivity and maintain safety standards
- Prepare and approve preliminary documents and final billing for vessel operations
- Conduct safety talks and inspections to ensure compliance with safety regulations
- Communicate effectively with customers and team members regarding operational plans and changes
- Document production delays and resolve labor issues in coordination with union representatives
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Education: Prefer college degree in a related field or associate degree
- Minimum of three (3) years of transportation/stevedoring experience or equivalent military experience
- Strong managerial, supervisory, and decision-making skills
- Ability to work flexible hours and in various outdoor conditions
- Good computer skills and ability to operate standard office equipment
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience in a leadership role within maritime or logistics operations
- Familiarity with OSHA regulations and Collective Bargaining Agreements
- Proven track record of effective customer service in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to think strategically and adapt to changing circumstances
- Experience with heavy lift gear and out-of-gauge lift operations
