    • Considerable problem-solving skills that lead include flexibility and divergent thinking.

    • Excellent oral/written communication skills as well as strong interpersonal skills to present information.

    • Coordinates efforts with building principal to establish and implement a shared mission and vision for the school that leads to academic growth for all learners.
    • In concert with the principal, creates, develops and sustains relationships that result in active student engagement in the learning process.
    • Works with the principal to ensure a welcoming environment and school culture that successfully develops the full range of students’ learning capacities–academic, creative, social-emotional, behavioral and physical.
    • Supports the principal in developing, implementing, and monitoring the outcomes of the school improvement plan.
    • In collaboration with the building principal, evaluates the effectiveness of instruction by conducting frequent formal and informal observations and provides timely and specific feedback as part of the district teacher appraisal system.
    • Works with the principal to support and facilitate teacher teams and professional learning communities (PLC).
    • Supports and participates in professional learning grounded in improving instructional and operational leadership.
    • Proactively engages families and communities in support of student learning and the school’s shared mission, vision and learning goals.
    • Creates and supports a climate that values, accepts, and understands cultural diversity and multiple perspectives.
    • Consistently models positive behaviors aligned to the schools mission and vision and builds capacity within the school community.
    • Takes an active leadership role, with or in the absence of the school principal, in the event of any safety or other emergency.
    • Other duties as assigned.
    • Supervises, evaluates and leads certified and non-certified staff under the direction of the Principal.

    • SUMMARY:
      The Assistant Principal position works collaboratively with the school principal to support the success of all students in the school, including the professional capacity of school staff. Effective communication with all stakeholders is paramount.

      SALARY RANGE:
      $80,000 - $92,000

      EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

      General Experience and Education
