Fountain-Fort Carson School District #8 has anticipated Assistant Principal position for the 2024-2025 school year at Fountain Middle School.
Job Function:
The middle school Assistant Principal participates as a part of the administrative team, which share responsibilities, leadership, mission and Gola responsibility for the school. They work with the Principal in providing supervision of employees including serving as an instructional leader assigning and directing work, interviewing, evaluating performance, disciplining and resolving issues. Provide leadership for students by overseeing daily building operation, identifying instructional needs and solutions, and coordinating student activities and programs. Monitor professional development in classrooms and grade level/content area meeting in accordance to the school and district goals and objectives. Implement and monitor school-wide behavioral expectations and policies including monitoring attendance trends and overseeing truancy interventions; address safety and welfare issues by holding meetings with parents, investigating incidents, documenting findings, contacting proper authorities and conforming to legal requirements and regulations. Assistant Principals monitor and provide leadership for all students with special needs and programs. This includes Special Education (SPED), Multi-Language Learners (MLL), Gifted (G/T) and students on a 504.
Qualifications:- Minimum of three to five years secondary teaching experience.
- Possess a MA Degree or higher.
- A valid Type D Colorado Certificate/Principal's license or be eligible for same at the time of employment.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Administrative experience preferred.
- Special Education experience preferred.
- Knowledge of standardized testing processes preferred.Mission Statement:

Fountain-Fort Carson School District Eight spans an area of approximately 150 square miles. The city of Fountain, Fort Carson Military Installation, Rock Creek Township, and several surrounding rural areas all fall within the District parameters. Fountain-Fort Carson School District Eight includes eight elementary schools and two dedicated preschools. Four of the elementary schools and a preschool are located in the city of Fountain (Aragon, Jordahl, Mesa, Eagleside Elementary schools, and Conrad Early Learning Center) while the other four elementary schools (Abrams, Patriot, Mountainside, and Weikel Elementary and Weikel Preschool) are located on Fort Carson. The district has two middle schools. Fountain Middle School is located in the city of Fountain and Carson Middle School is located on Fort Carson. The district’s two high schools, Fountain-Fort Carson High School and Welte Education Center, are both located in the city of Fountain.
