      Working Title: Assistant Professor of Educational Leadership
      Job Summary:

      The School of Education at the University of West Florida in Pensacola invites applications for a (tenure-track) Assistant Professor of Educational Leadership. The primary responsibility will be in the Educational Leadership program, focusing on K-12 educational leadership and school administration. We seek candidates with experience in areas such as school leadership and reform, change management, instructional leadership, community engagement, or other similar areas that speak directly to the challenges facing today’s educational leaders. The UWF Educational Leadership program is a thriving Master’s degree-earning principal preparation program. The program faculty is committed to preparing instructional leaders for diverse school settings to positively impact students, schools, communities, and the world. In addition, faculty are expected to foster student learning through innovative, effective instructional practices using technology-based learning platforms to teach online master’s level courses in educational leadership.

      Through this search, we seek an energetic, committed colleague who will contribute to the goals and mission of the program to provide rigorous and relevant courses with emphasis on the following:
      • Modeling ethical leadership practices;
      • Fostering a collaborative learning environment;
      • Integrating data-driven decision making;
      • Participating in embedded field experiences in eight courses; and
      • Connecting theory in practice in two clinical courses, Instructional Leadership and Principalship.
      We are searching for a candidate to contribute to and expand the teaching, scholarship, and service culture that supports our students and fosters collaborative community partnerships. The ideal candidate will have a growth mindset, evidence of excellent research skills, a focused research agenda, and a demonstrated commitment to meeting the needs of all learners and communities. Relevant experience in K-12 schools is also desirable.

      Minimum Qualifications: • An earned doctorate in Educational Leadership or a related field and a strong record of scholarly research and/or K-12 experience;
      • Demonstrate knowledge of school and district-level leadership, policy, and instructional leadership practices;
      • At least one academic year of university-level teaching experience in Educational Leadership (as an instructor of record, adjunct instructor, or teaching assistant);
      • Held the school principal position, plus 3–5 years of K-12 administration experience; and
      • Served 3+ years in a teaching capacity within a K-12 classroom environment.
      Preferred Qualifications • A research/scholarship agenda related to K-12 leadership practices, policies, and instructional practices;
      • Demonstrating a collaborative spirit and a desire to work with fellow faculty members, other academic programs, local community agencies, and local, state, and national educational and professional organizations and associations; and
      • Experience with online teaching, course development, dissertation committee membership, and online student support.
