Position Number: 128970 Position Title (Classification Title): Assistant Professor, 128970 Working Title: Assistant Professor of Early Modern British Literature Job Summary: The Department of English is seeking an Assistant Professor of English with a focus in Early Modern British literature. The successful candidate will teach courses in General Education, in upper-division English, and in the Graduate program; pursue a research agenda appropriate for a high-performing regional comprehensive university; and provide service to the department and the College of Arts, Social Sciences, and Humanities. The successful candidate will teach three courses per semester. The Department of English at the University of West Florida is an energetic department of active scholars and creative teachers. Department Dept of English FLSA: Exempt Position Qualifications: Doctoral degree in English. The appointee engages in teaching, scholarship and creative projects, and/or service and other related activities. Preferred Qualifications Demonstrated history of teaching and researching Shakespeare and who can develop courses in secondary areas such as critical theory and the intersections of social forces such as economics, class, and identity in Early Modern literature.
