Florida Atlantic University is identified as a Hispanic-Serving Institution by the U.S. Department of Education. Housed within the College of Social Work and Criminal Justice at FAU, the Sandler School of Social Work is committed to creating an accessible and supportive environment of academic excellence. Our school has approximately 600 Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) students (the largest BSW program in Florida) and 300 Master of Social Work (MSW) students. Our Doctor of Social Work program opened in August 2016 and is currently undergoing a curriculum redesign to relaunch in Fall 2024. We continue to see significant growth in academic programs and certificates, as well as research and community-engaging centers (e.g., Child Welfare Institute, Healthy Aging Academy, Office of Professional Development, Robin Rubin Center for Happiness and Life Enhancement). Applicants should be prepared to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels and to mentor doctoral students.

We are looking for candidates who will strengthen the School’s commitment to its mission and goals. We are particularly interested in applicants with teaching, practice, or research experience with underserved individuals, families, and communities. Applicants should be prepared to explain how their research aligns with FAU’s strategic plan, Race to Excellence (https://www.fau.edu/provost/documents/approved.plan2018.pdf ). Our School, College, and University provide an intellectually exciting, collegial, and supportive faculty environment that fosters interprofessional education and practice, as well as interdisciplinary research.
