The Department of Economics in the College of Business Administration (CBA) at the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) invites applications for an a tenure-track assistant professor of economics to start August 2025. We seek candidates passionate about high quality scholarship and teaching in applied microeconomics. The immediate teaching expectations include the ability to cover intermediate microeconomics, graduate (master’s level) microeconomics, as well as other courses in the candidate’s area of specialization. The department is particularly interested in candidates who conduct research, and can teach, in multiple applied microeconomics subfields.
Other fields of interest include, but are not limited to, business economics, environmental economics, natural resource economics, urban and regional economics, labor economics, industrial organization, and behavioral economics. The department has particular interest in candidates with teaching and scholarly activities which are application-oriented in nature.
The Department of Economics has three undergraduate economics programs and a Master of Economics program. Additionally, the department has specialized core/required courses in the MBA program, EMBA program, and executive education programs. Beyond the core economic courses, the economic department contributes extensively to the data science programs at CBA.
