      The Department of Pharmacology & Toxicology at the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) in Milwaukee, WI is seeking a cancer researcher to join our faculty at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor in the tenure track. The department is expanding its cancer research team in partnership with the Cancer Center at MCW. While candidates with research interests in any area related to cancer will be considered, those with research programs in the following areas are especially encouraged to apply.

      • Cancer therapeutics & Precision Oncology
      • Immunology & the Tumor Microenvironment
      • Chemical Proteomics & Metabolomics

      Successful candidates will be expected to establish and maintain an extramurally funded research program and to work collaboratively with researchers in Pharmacology & Toxicology and the Cancer Center. Requirements include completion of a PhD and/or MD and at least 2 years of post-doctoral experience in a relevant area. Candidates at the Associate Professor rank will be expected to have current federal funding for their research.

      The Department of Pharmacology & Toxicology at MCW is entering a new growth phase and is excited to build on its historical strengths in cancer pharmacology, neuropharmacology, and cardiovascular pharmacology. This growth is supported by an institutional commitment to multiple faculty recruitments, a full renovation of departmental space, strong partnerships with clinical departments and institutional centers (cancer, cardiovascular, neuroscience and immunology), and a renewed emphasis on therapeutics. Departmental faculty members participate in multiple graduate programs, including the Interdisciplinary Doctoral Program (IDP) and the Medical Scientist Training Program (MSTP), in addition to our own Ph.D. program in Pharmacology & Toxicology. The department is highly collaborative, dedicated to mentorship of early career faculty members and graduate and post-doctoral trainees, supportive of professional development, and committed to diversity and inclusion.

      The cutting-edge translational MCW Cancer Center is supported by strong collaborations between MCW faculty members and clinicians, spanning the bench-to-bedside and bedside-to-bench continuum. New faculty will benefit from the extensive growth of the MCW Cancer Center, which is investing $100M in five parallel research initiatives that include immuno-oncology, metabolomics, structural Biology, precision oncology, and community-driven research. The Cancer Center supports more than 200 ongoing clinical trials and has also invested significantly in research infrastructure including a new Cancer Research Building to be completed in 2024 and state-of-the art cryo-EM facility to be completed in 2023.

      Faculty contribute to the teaching mission of MCW by training graduate students and medical students in their laboratories and in the classroom. The selected candidates will receive a competitive start-up package, modern lab space, and the opportunity to be mentored by a formal committee.
