Responsibilities
The Division of Social Sciences and History at Delta State University invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice.
This is a full time (9 month) tenure-track or visiting/non-tenure track position to begin August 2023.
The successful candidate will teach 12 credit hours per semester, which will include undergraduate courses, both online and in the classroom, as well as in the fully online graduate program. The successful applicant will also develop an active research agenda and engage in service to the department, college, university, and community, and will advise students. This new faculty member will have opportunities to collaborate with the University’s Delta Children’s Advocacy Center, which offers a certificate in Children’s Advocacy Studies Training (CAST).
Possible areas of specialization include: law enforcement; corrections; juvenile justice; criminal investigation; homeland security; forensics; drugs; psychology and the criminal justice system.
Candidates with professional work experience in one of the aforementioned areas within the criminal justice and legal system are encouraged to apply.
