- An upper second-class honours degree or higher in psychology.

- Training in Psychometric testing
- Neurodevelopment assessment knowledge and/or experience
- Working with people with mental health problems and/or other disabilities for 6 months or more
- Experience of working with children with neurodevelopmental differences
- High level communication skills (written and verbal) including an ability to communicate and work in settings in which the atmosphere may be highly emotive.
- Ability to communicate sensitive information to patients, carers and colleagues in a way that addresses psychological resistance An understanding of the needs and difficulties of people with mental health problems and neurodiverse differences.
- An ability to apply existing psychological knowledge to a mental health context.
- An understanding of psychology applied to health care
- IT Literate
- High standard of report writing

Job summary
Assistant Psychologist Fixed Term (12-months)
Hours: 37.5 hours full time (flexible to meet the needs of the service)

Rotherham Doncaster and South Humber Mental Health Foundation NHS Trust is committed to providing the highest standard of Mental Health and Learning Disabilities services for the population of Rotherham, Doncaster, North and North East Lincolnshire.
We are looking for an Assistant Psychologist to support the existing Specialist Neurodevelopmental Assessment pathway (ADHD and ASD) within Doncaster, under the supervision of qualified Clinical Psychologists

Main duties of the job
As an Assistant Psychologist within the team, you will be involved in undertaking assessments with children and families, school based observation assessments, undertaking psychometric assessments, co-working cases with qualified clinicians and providing therapeutic support where appropriate; thus enabling you to utilise and enhance your clinical skills and knowledge.
The Neurodevelopmental Team within Doncaster is a multi-disciplinary service with professionals from a range of professional backgrounds. It is structured into a number of Care Pathways. Doncaster CAMHS is part of the Children and Young People's Care Group, alongside two other CAMHS services in North Lincolnshire, and Rotherham. This is an exciting time for the team as it continues to develop, implementing a new service model and the development of care pathways underpinned by national CAMHS strategies and initiatives.
An Honours degree in Psychology (BSc), experience of working with mental health/psychological problems and good communication skills are all essential requirements. The applicant should have access to transport and the ability to travel within the required geographical area. The post holder will be offered training, professional support and supervision.
