Job summary
We are a new, growing and progressive Adult ADHD Service based entirely within Primary Care. We have an opportunity for a full time experienced, Band 5, Assistant Psychologist to help us develop a more efficient and robust assessment process.
We are a small, very busy and developing team made up of (mostly) Mental Health nurses and GPs and looking to extend our skills and knowledge base by bringing in psychology. This post would ideally suit an experienced and enthusiastic Assistant Psychologist, with a specific interest in working with adult ADHD and who is looking for an opportunity to develop skills (especially as they relate to assessment of ADHD) and who is, ultimately, working towards a career in clinical/counselling Psychology.
Main duties of the job
The purpose of this role is to support and enhance the assessment of adults seeking diagnosis of ADHD. You will work alongside other health care professionals who are trained to assess ADHD in adults. The role will be to support the screening and initial assessment of ADHD as well assist with ongoing review of those moving through the service from assessment to shared care with their registered GP.
There will be training, and ongoing regular clinical supervision offered by qualified ADHD Team members. We will also offer supervision relevant to a clinical psychology pathway as required. You will be expected to work towards working independently according to a plan agreed with the Clinical Lead and within the overall framework of the teams policies and procedures. You will also assist in clinically related administration, conduct of audits, collection of statistics, development of audit and/or research projects, teaching, and service development work.
We are a Warrington based service and (currently) serve the Warrington population, however most of our work is done remotely. With the easing of restrictions this is expected to change slightly but the model we work to suits remote working and it is anticipated this will remain an intrinsic part of the way we continue to operate.
About us
Quay Primary Healthcare CIC started in 2014, as part of the Prime Ministers challenge fund. We are a primary care support organisation, with all the GP practices in Warrington as shareholders. We have seen significant shifts in Primary Care demands and structures, since 2019 and now the amalgamation of Clinical Commissioning Groups into Integrated Care Systems (ICS). As these grow, collaboration between primary care providers and their wider system partners is growing too.
Our core mission is to develop and deliver creative and innovative services, which reduce Primary Care, neighbourhood, place and system pressures, whilst improving health, wellbeing and outcomes of the population we serve, in Warrington and in the wider Northwest.

About the company
National Health Service (NHS) is the umbrella term for the publicly-funded healthcare systems of the United Kingdom (UK). The founding principles were that services should be comprehensive, universal and free at the point of delivery—a health service based on clinical need, not ability to pay.
