      Founded in 1976, Mill Creek Country Club is one of the Pacific Northwest’s finest private 18-hole golf courses. It is a Ted Robinson designed course that plays a lot tougher than the score card reads. Located north of Seattle, WA, in the city of Mill Creek, MCCC offers its members and employees an opportunity to get away from the fast-paced grind for a tranquil and beautiful experience on a truly great piece of property.

      We are looking for a new Assistant Superintendent to help lead a motivated team as we continue to make MCCC a great golf experience and true escape for our members and their guests. The right candidate for this opportunity is a self-motivated team player who comes to work each day looking to improve themselves and the golf course operation. You must be prepared to communicate with the Superintendent and other staff to achieve the overall goals and possess a good attitude with a desire to learn and grow within the industry. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the continued success and reputation of Mill Creek Country Club.

      Primary Responsibilities:

      • Assist the golf course Superintendent with the daily operations and scheduling.
      • Perform standard golf course maintenance duties, including fertilizer/pesticide applications, irrigation and drainage repairs, construction, and course set-up.
      • Train staff in how to perform their tasks safely and efficiently.
      • Monitor course conditions daily and make recommendations for improvements to enhance playability and aesthetics.
      • Responsible for training staff members in the operation of all equipment, with safety being the highest priority.
      • Maintain communication with the Superintendent, Greens Crew staff, as well as Pro Shop and Clubhouse staff as needed.
      • Assist the Superintendent in administration, project planning, and execution.
      • Manage the new Cirrus Pro Rainbird Irrigation System. (Newly installed in 2023.)
      • Communicate with the Equipment Manager to ensure equipment is ready for use and organized and cleaned at the end of each day.
      • Enforce and follow rules, guidelines, and company policies.

      Requirements

      • A completed 2- or 4-year degree in Turfgrass Management or equivalent certificate is preferred. (Or in pursuit of degree or certificate.)
      • 3 to 4 years’ experience in golf course maintenance.
      • Proficient knowledge of irrigation and drainage systems.
      • Ability to supervise, motivate, and efficiently manage a crew of 14+ employees.
      • Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to delivering exceptional results.
      • Flexibility to work overtime, every other weekend, holidays that fall on your schedule, and mandatory tournaments.
      • Experience with spraying fertilizers/pesticides and calibrating equipment, and knowledge of turf products.
      • Current WA State Pesticide Applicator’s license, or can obtain one within 6 months.
      • Active golfer and knowledgeable about the game of golf.

      Compensation Salary

      $67,000 -– $78,000 DOE
